The start at Applegarth car park
This years run took place on a fine day for October with an entry of 25 machines. The run started from Northallerton for most, unfortunately Dave Hemsworth had problems starting his MZ, despite pushing around the car park for half an hour, it refuse to go. No other problems fortunately as the run got underway.
The morning route took us around the back roads from Northallerton towards Masham with checkpoints at Kirby Wiske manned by Peter Paige & his colleagues & East Witton by Dave & Shirley Allison.
From East Witton the route followed the narrow Braithwaite Lane towards Caldbergh & West Scrafton & then picked up the scenic road to Kettlewell passing through Coverdale.
 Wilf arriving late as usual
The lunch stop was Kettlewell where some of the bikes parked on Bill Wilkinson’s garage forecourt, which was unfortunately closed.
After a leisurely lunch stop, probably spoilt by Howard & myself asking the usual checkpoint questions, we set off on the return route towards Buckden passing though wonderful villages Starbotton & Cray, down into Thoralby where yet another checkpoint was placed, to slow the modern post war & post 60 bikes down. Then back to Northallerton via Leyburn & Bedale to finish off in the Sportsman Club for refreshment & results.
Thanks to all the marshals, Peter Paige, Dave & Shirley Allison & Howard Masters for their assistance.
Here are the results:
A few bikes assembled outside Bill Wilkinsons Garage at the lunch stop in Kettlewell A nice pair (of Vincents!) Bill Birk's BSA Sloper and Martin Peacock's Bonneville
Fred gets some helpful advice Martin's Bonneville Near Woodale Martin and Dave at the lunch stop in Kettlewell
