What can the club offer you?

The BSA Owners' Club is dedicated to the preservation and use of all BSA motorcycles and welcomes anybody who owns a BSA motorcycle to join. The club has probably the largest library of BSA related information in the world. We have a superb monthly magazine, The Star, which keeps members in touch. It has technical articles and a market place where you can advertise your bikes or parts, wanted, or for sale/swap which is free for members. The club has technical consultants for all types of BSA motorcycles to help you repair or restore your BSA. We also have experts in welding and correct paint finishes for your BSA. There is a transfer scheme which helps you to find that elusive transfer or sticker/decal. Many available from stock. Also members can buy BSA  Regalia from our regalia officer. We are able to help you to return your bike to the road with our DVLA recognised dating certificate to enable you to obtain an age related number. We deal with retention of original registrations as well and have helped many BSA owners whether members or not to reclaim their original registration. Cheaper classic motorcycle insurance is available to members. Many classic bike dealers offer discount on production of your BSAOC membership card. A busy calendar of events both at home and abroad gives you the chance to meet other BSA enthusiasts most weekends. An  International rally   is organised in a different country each year, often with travel discounts negotiated by the club to make the journey easier. Each year the club organise a BSA Open Day and Rally (Formally Field Day) which is free for anybody interested in BSAs whether a member or not.

• Each year the BSAOC have a week long International Rally in a different country. Dates for the future are,  2007 Belgium, 2008 Great Britain, 2009 The Netherlands, 2010 New Zealand. 
• Calendar of events 2008 Is there a club event happening near you?  Updated jan 2008.
• So you have a BSA, what do you do with it? There may be a club event near you so why not go along? Here is an account of one such weekend organised by South Derbyshire Branch.
• Registering your Bike How to register your BSA with the DVLA. Also how to apply for a dating certificate for your BSA.  How to retain the original registration of your BSA.
• You will need to supply pencil rubbings of the engine and frame numbers as this is now a stipulation of the DVLA
• Open Day and Rally (Formally the field Day) This is the premier event of the BSA year and is a complete weekend rally at Wicksteed Park Kettering. Free autojumble on site. Sell your own bits too if you wish.  
• International BSA clubs With 23 clubs in 15 countries most of the world is covered.
• The Star magazine An example of what you can read in the monthly Star magazine. This includes hints and tips and free advertising and technical advice for members. Those of you who are members can use the email facility to send articles, adverts and letters for publication in the Star.
• BSA related links Visit other international BSA clubs and service providers. Also members own pages dealing with specific models.
• BSA Transfers Those difficult to find transfers/decals for club members. We have the largest collection of BSA transfers available to all members. There is a list of all transfers available and instructions on how to stick them on your bike. 
• BSA  Regalia  We have various items of regalia which we can offer to club members only. We have a large collection of clothes and badges amongst other items all on display on this page. The page is under construction at the moment and will be available soon.
• BSA Machine numbering system. Delving into the intricacies of the BSA factory numbering system. We help you to find where your numbers are stamped on the bike. Also a year by year list of all the BSA models with numbers and prefixes. Compiled by the club from information in their library. We help you to find when your bike was built. Just find your engine and frame number and cross-reference with this list. 
• Early A7 history and specifications Find out what we have to offer our members from our library archives. This is just a tiny example of what we have available.
• The Club's reply to new tax disc proposals A reply to the government on the proposed new types of tax disk for motorcycles. This was in response to a questionnaire from the DVLA. We have a link to their website on our links page if you would like to read the questionnaire. 
• The Rocket Gold Star page Find out the truth about this model, I.E. How many were made, how long in production and what colours, ETC. Updated with more information 13th May 2005.
• Swedish Rally There are over 400 pictures from the 2003  BSAOC International Rally in Sweden.
• Attendance Sheets and Risk Assessment Forms  Forms for the use of branches and members organising club events.

Machine Dating Officer

Please note Brian Pollitt will be standing down from the position of Machine Dating Officer in August, after 12 years, as he will be taking over Lightning Spares from 1st August 2008. He will also not be the webmaster for this site from then on. The club is looking for volunteers for the positions.

1954 Daytona win by BSA

It has been announced that the exhibition celebrating the BSA first seven places at Daytona in 1954 is to be brought over for the 2008 International Rally. It is hoped to be able to bring three bikes from the exhibition over for parades and demonstrations on the Isle of Man.

the BSA OWNERS CLUB,you must have made many good friends and when you are browsing
the net,from time to time its great to pop in and have a look at the BSAOC  website...see
whats happening to the great club,whats new and then click on to the various BSAOC sites
ALL OVER THE WORLD.
 
Every few years, the ex; members of the famous CRICKLADE BRANCH, some still members
of the BSAOC, and some not,organise a reunion for ALL BSAOC  members both past and
present.
Several  hundreds have been re aquainted with old friends from all over the U.K and GERMANY
. HOLLAND, and ex pats in AUSTRALIA. who turned up at these reunions.At the last reunion
in 2004, we had three ex; editors,past PRESIDENTS,  and numerous ex committee members.
One of these , suggested a contact address for Ex members, who may like to find out where
their old mate had got too, so I have volunteered to submit my  Tel; No;  etc , 
I may not be able to help everyone but with help from others I will give it a try...So here it is;

Please help us to help you with pre 1930 BSAs. 

The club are able to date your machine from the original factory despatch books but Pre 1930 markings are based on listings available to the Club but do NOT have any form of cross referencing, therefore there is no way of checking their accuracy. Post 1930, the listing are cross referenced by the despatch books and by contemporary listings in parts books and dealer service sheets, where available. This cross referencing is available for most models up to the closure of the factory. However we are currently revising the pre 1930 lists which we are cross referencing with machine which we have personally scrutinised and verified. We need your assistance to help us on this and request that anybody who has pre 1930 BSA bikes write to the machine dating officer Brian Pollitt  Address with details of your machine and photos of each side of the complete bike plus detailed photos of the engine. All photos will be returned. Thanks in advance.
