The North East Section party arrived at Northallerton at around 2.30 on the afternoon of 3 May in beautiful warm sunny weather. After light refreshments and a good long natter they went on their way rejoicing.
The morning of 4 May was quite dull in spite of the forecast which had predicted the best day of the year so far, there was even a heavy shower. Undeterred the baton party assembled at Middleton St George CC at 10.30am and after one or two wrong turns eventually found Chez Lincoln where the Baton was duly handed on. The rest of the day was spent riding down the coast and included a nostalgic crossing of the Tees on the Transporter Bridge.
