The January Business Meeting was held on 10th January. An update on recently held events includes: The Trail Bike ride to the Farndale area took place on 2nd December with an arduous but enjoyable day had by David Porteous, Brian Smith, Tom Norman and Colin Jackson. John Robinson led five riders on the Anniversary Social Run to the Cod and Lobster at Staithes followed by a nostalgic call to the Three Tuns at Sadberge. The Section Xmas Party was held at the Clubhouse on 13th December and the usual good time was had by all. Special thanks go to Bill Birks for his Geography Quiz, Martin Porteous and the girls for organising the raffle and, of course, to Elaine for the high quality buffet. The trial at Hindlethwaite on 16th December was won by Rob Green followed by James Rutter and Joe Morgan. The Boxing Day Social Run to High Force was led by Brian Smith with quite a good turn out by section members and also by members of the Teesside Yesteryear Club and the North East Classic Bike Club. There was a good turnout by our chums whose wives determined that a trip out in the car might be the preferred option. The trial at Snilesworth on 2nd January was won by Rob Green followed by Colin Jackson and Tony Frost. The big event of the Social Calendar is, of course, the Awards Presentation at Walworth Castle on 19th January. Guests of Honour this year were Club President Harry Wiles and his wife Fran. Harry gave a short speech and made the presentation of awards. This was a most enjoyable evening despite the absence of ‘The Noisy One’ who had more pressing motorcycling business overseas. Winners of the Run Awards were announced throughout the year but the following major awards were announced on the night:
