Here is the newsletter from the May Business meeting.

A busy month for the section with three club nights and several runs. These included:

Founders Relay Rally on June 4th when members visited check points across the North including our own at Middleton St George and High Force. Thanks go to Eric, Neil and Cliff.

Wilf’s Touring Week from June 12th - 16th. Thirteen riders were out on most days, including the Quaker weekend, and averaged some 1200 miles each.

Quaker Social Run on June 17th organised by Brian Smith. A well-attended day out with lunch stop at Alston.

Quaker Run on June 18th organised by Martin, Irene and David Porteous together with their fine support team. 59 entrants took part and a good time was had by all. Results can be found elsewhere on the website.

Discovery Run on June 21st when a small but perfectly-formed entry enjoyed a fine evening concluding with the statutory sausages & chips. Thanks go to Mike & Howard.

Hesket Newmarket Weekend on June 24th - 25th when a strong section entry took part. Many awards were deservedly won by “our boys” and Angie. The overall winner was Brian Smith – well done Brian.

Events to look forward to include:

  • Evening Social run on June 4th. Meet at the club at 6:30.
  • Ride-in to Alston on June 7th.
  • Trip to Holland on June 5th - 9th.
  • Walworth Castle Concours on June 10th. Meet at 6:00 for 6:30 start.
  • Eric’s Evening Excursion on June 17th.
  • Sunset Run on June 23rd.

A further item of news is that the section has agreed to organise the Beamish Trophy Trial on September 14th. Planning is in the early stages but any help on the day would be appreciated. Further information from Tom Norman.

Should I manage to survive the trip to Holland, there’ll be a further update next month.
