This years Quaker social run started from the Cricket Club on a not too promising looking day - it was raining!! Several had travelled from afar for the weekend, Dennis Beale & Sally from the Cotswold Section, Dave Jolly & Chris Welch from Notts & Derby, Dave Miller from Lakeland, Martyn Weston from Northumbrian (back up man).

Assembled at Crathorne

Brian Smith led the pack to Crathorne camp site to meet up with some of the Touring Section, many of whom had also travelled from afar, who were staying to do the Quaker weekend followed by Wilf's touring week. There were about 30 bikes in total of various ages and once assembled, led by Brian, we ventured into the mist & rain towards the hills.  He had told us that our destination was to be Goathland - eventually.

After travelling over the moors through Osmotherly, Hawnby, and eventually dropping into Helmsley via Rievaulx.

Lunch at Gothland

From Helsmley we turned left heading in a big loop over Bransdale heading for Gillamoor and Hutton le Hole where we stopped for a welcome coffee. From there we carried on to Goathland (Aidensfield - Heartbeat country) where we parked the bikes in Scripps Garage and then for lunch and to dry out in the Goathland Hotel (Aidensfield Arms)

After lunch a few of us parted company to head off home to dry out, as the weather did not get any better, and prepare for the Sunday run where we have asked Dave Porteous to organize some sun.
