VMCC South Durham

I'm trying to find out more about my Grandad, Oliver Downs. He was better known to his friends as Olly. I know that Grandad was the first person to originally try to form the SD VMCC in the early 70's and was the first Chairman, and I have a few photo's of him with some of his bikes and a few newspaper clippings but not many. I'm trying to find photo's and info and would be very grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction.

Here's a link for some photo's of Grandad's bikes and newspaper clippings (including the 2nd time he tried getting people interested in forming a South Durham branch)  Other than a couple of Grandma and Grandad when I was a toddler they are the only photo's I have of him, so any help really is appreciated.
