A big thank you to the sophisticated representitives of the South Durham Section for introducing me to the joys and delights which can only be experienced by eating a liver pie. Mmmmmmm Bring on more pies........

I don't know how you can all remember the lyrics to the ditty with so much apparent ease. I second T20c's apraisal of the SD section generosity with the request of hte attendance of the Northumbrian members to the liver pie supper. Pictures of the happening can be viewed online at http:/picasaweb.google.co.uk/martynwestont100/2010NorthumbrianGathering Martyn

I will contact your web man and his little helper and he may post the pictures on this site. I do not have the authority to load to the Gallery directly. Besides - I'm not a heathen from the north anymore - I'm a southern poofta as SPOOF has confirmed. Martyn

Nor Italian red wine either, Andreas. We were on good old fashioned BEER with copious quantities of SCOTCH WHISKY - non of yer Poofy Stuff for us, eh? I must own up to the fact that I declined the offer of sampling liver pies. I did, however, sample something that was rather piquant - but couldn't put a name to it. I still hum the tune and think of the lyrics to "Liver Pie" Martyn

Liver pie ice cream eh! That is a challange, as somone who is competant at making Ice cream it could be a bit tricky.
I have made such thinks as 'real ale' sorbet, Gin & Tonic sorbet. (11% alc), chocolate chip cookie dough Ice cream, bubble gum Ice cream........etc etc. I have never tried a meat based Ice cream, If I can perfect it, those that survive this years colonial run can sample some!

Randmly I saw something on the one show tonight about Ice creeam for dogs! Other than the fact it was soya based (as the lactose in milk is not good for dogs) it was meat flavored so liver pie ice cream is a possability! Im thinking of a liver ice cream with bits of pie crust mixed in!
any thoughts? | |

Can i have a flake in mine with hundreds and thousands and monkies blood. Mmmm. This is going to be a winner. But none for the soft southern pouff, time was when he was a real man, could clear a pub with one fart.So take note northern men,if like S.P. you drink LAGER AHH. UGH. and live in the SOUTH AHH.UGH.your taste buds could not take the delights of liver products.Sad thought.

What a load of bolox. When are you and your posse visiting? I've joined the Devon TRF and now know which lanes are legal and which aren't. Plenty of exploration hereabouts. Maryn

Hello, tis me, I'm back.
Now then, the liver pie song was found on my answer phone when I returned from the south.
I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY, WHAT A BUNCH OF NOISY GITS YOU ALL ARE. YOU NEVER CATCH ME BEHAVING IN SUCH A DRUNKEN LOUTISH MANOR. I am much more dignified in my drunkenness. None of this lurching around muddy fields not being able to find my camping mode (van or caravan usually). I like to think of myself as some sort of super hero who helps old ladies across the road etc (even if they don't want to cross the road). I have stopped short of wearing my underpants outside my pants though, but only because people may think that I am silly, and that would never do:roll:

You would not be wise to not do that after liver pie farts in case of visable evedence!
