Great run and fabulous weather. Dave Headon the Chairman did a great job, the route and instructions were were spot on! Nice to merge into the WW11 Day at Leyburn which was an added bonus and the cool pint at the Comet went down very well. sorry no pics - left camera at home in all the excitement ? Steve Hodgson

Another great run organised by Mike Carruthers and the "Team". Using my 80 cc Yamaha step through rather than my bigger bikes, proved to be most enjoyable although it's map reading is no better than the Honda! Never mind despite the detours which probably meant that I travelled more miles than anybody else just proves that any bike can take part in our runs. Soon be Xmas ? Steve

Nice to get the bike out on the road again and about 20 of us enjoyed an invigorating run up lower Weardale to Teessdale , finishing at the Strathmore Arms Holwick where we are always made welcome. The square pies are something else and the beer is not bad either. Riders made their own way home from the Strathmore Arms back towards Darlington and a couple of visitors carried on to Teesside. The main part of the run back took us down the great down hill stretch from Middleton in Teesdale to Eggleston , Staindrop and to Darlington. great views of the Tees Valley under a blue sky. Ah, well the Relay Run Next.

The South Durham Section intends to run our 2018 first run out on Sunday April 22nd which also coincides with the FBHVC Ride - it - Day . Although the route has not been finalised yet it will be an untaxing sorte up the Dales. Start will be at the Cricket Club 10.30 am , so keep an eye open for final details nearer the time. This gives an earlier opportunity to chase away the winter blues prior to the Quaker Run events in May. All are welcome, any queries contact Steve Hodgson

As time marches on and my legs seem to get shorter and weaker enter my latest addition to the flock. A 1980 Honda (what else?) CD200TA 200cc twin which I enjoyed Mikes latest excellent Anniversary Run recently. 280lb wet through, electric and kick start and I recorded 86 mpg. That is a days ridding on just over a gallon of petrol. Even Kelvin was tempted to press my button. If us old un's are to go on for ever annoying the so called younger generation we might as well enjoy it. Cheers Steve

Well done Mike and the "Team". A great run and well supported and nice to see a good number of visitors. Tom Reed & Ian Tigwell ( Tiggy) looking to see who to follow at the Linton lunch stop?

The Moped and Tiddler Run held the same night as the July Social Run and Bun fight went down very well. Interestingly although the group comprised of 32 cc ,50 cc , 100 cc anf 150 cc bikes the pace set by the 50's seemed to work out well ( 25 -30 mph) and comments were made by the "bigger bike" riders how much they enjoyed the sedate pace Honestly the type of roads we went down did not warrent speeds much higher than we were doing anyway. What we need to progress is more riders to come forward ( or "out"?) who want to excercise their tiddlers in public. The VMCC Scotland seem to have made great strides in promoting Mopeds and Tiddlers.
