Quaker Weekend May 2026

Social Run Number 2 In The Week Running Up To The Quaker Run 50th Anniversary Weekend

A great ride today, lead by Brian Smith. The route took us through the countryside of North Yorkshire. Osmotherley for coffee and afternoon refreshments at The Owl in Hawnby. Thanks Brian.

 

A history lesson was provided by Professor Brian Smith in the St Mary’s churchyard Bolton on Swale regarding the life of Henry Jenkins who, reputedly died at the age of 169 and is buried there.

50th Anniversary Quaker Run

More than forty bikes took part in the 50th Anniversary Quaker Run. A great route taking riders through parts of Teesdale, Swaledale and Wensleydale in good weather. Thanks to David Porteous and team of helpers.

Riders were not only from local areas but also from Gloucester, Nottingham, North Durham and Tyneside areas as well as the Isle of Man.

Newsletter June 2026

 

17th May-a special occasion for the Section: 43 entrants, alongside helpers and supporters, gathered at the Baydale Beck pub Darlington for the 50th Anniversary Quaker Run to Reeth. Thanks to Dave Crone for recovering some! Three Social rides were well attended to Saltburn, Reivaulx and Hubberholme in Wharfedale when 16 riders dismounted to negotiate an obstacle course to get lunch.

 

Elsewhere, we attended: Hesket Newmarket weekend; the C2C and Rookhope by Northumbrian Section; and supported the Hurworth vehicle show.

 

July: Sunset Run 7th,

Darlington Town Centre motorcycle show 11th, please join us to make a worthy Section display,

Chairman’s Run date change to 19th from Manfield to Muker

 

August:  Baydale Run date change to 2nd.
